Hello all, can I ask a question about the Marlin 1894 CL. Did Marlin ever sell them with a synthetic stock? There was one for sale on "usedguns.com.au" that has a synthetic stock! Could this be original? Anyway I just bought it, so in a couple of weeks when I get it I will see if it looks ...

Well guys this gun first posted at $250. I rang the owner and he said "no, there has been a mistake and it is $250 000." He has a story of it being made in another plant and only 15 being made before it burned down. To tell you the truth I was still in shock at the price and only half list...

Re: On T Win 94 rear sight
Hi Terry,
I have a carbine of similar vintage and it has a ladder rear sight and welded post front sight.
The ladder sight is quite close to the receiver.
Possibly the 30-30 had a ladder sight that was replaced and hence the lack of room for elevation adjustment.
Just one possability.

The only problem I can see with that 1892 is that it is heading for your house and not mine. I would expect to see AUD 2000 plus on that gun if it turned up for sale here in Australia. In my opinion uneven wearing of the blue from receiver to barrel is normal for Winchesters. You did well - have a t...

Nice rifles ther Mate.
I like the 30-30 Carbine best because of the family connection - you cannot put a price on that.
The 30-30 looks to have some really nice grain in the timber as well.
Thanks for the post.

Hi Joe, Most Boomerangs that are for sale in Australia are made of ply wood and mass produced for tourists. Re: Question about possible rebarrel of Marlin 336 in .30/30
Hi Kevin,
Have you tried a few different projectiles?
I had a 336 of about the same vintage that would key hole Winchester 150gn hollow points, but shot Federal and PMC 150 gn soft points just fine.
It will be cheaper to do some more experimenting before you go down the road of a new barrel.

Hi, I am only going to shoot lead through these guns. Mostly 200gn. The 240gn projectiles that are made by Hawkesbury here in Australia are just a little too long to feed in the 1873 and the Colt, but give me no problems in any of my 1892's even though the OAL is about 1mm longer than standard. Hi Tristan,
I cannot cut the barrel shorter because Australian Gun Laws only allow a 16" barrel as minimum. Any shorter and I would be in trouble. I think there would be a lot of trouble getting the mag tube right if you cut one down as well.
