Re: How does your .44 Mag lever gun feed 44 Special?
Back when I first moved to Maui a large sporting goods chain was going belly-up so was clearing out their ammo at half price. I wanted 44 mag but all they had left was 44 Special Winchester Silvertip ammo. I bought the last few boxes they had left. It was a gamble but I found that my model 1894 Marl...

Living here in salty humid air Hawai'i where even stainless steel rusts without regular maintenance I will always prefer stainless steel. All my handguns are SS. That being said my dream handgun is a Colt Python in highly polished almost jet black blued.

Re: Mossberg 479 or 472, 30-30 levergun
Back when I lived on Maui I picked up a model 472 from a pawn shop in Texas (via my FFL) for just $130.00 which I though was a very fair price for a well made 30/30 levergun. This gun looks like a bastard child of a Marlin 336 and a Browning BLR. Never a popular design so usually when found on a paw...

The old homestead sold yesterday for 1.1m, my dad paid $33,000 for it in 1966. I'll get 14% of whatever is left after all outstanding balances and expenses are paid. Hawai'i is terribly humid with all the moisture from the sea surrounding it, and the subtropical heat. The house I grew up in had for the roof boards a by-product of sugar cane production a 3.5" thick cane fiber board called "canec" which does a great job insulating the roof from sola...
