Griff, my Browning 1886 Rifle was made in 1986. I also have a Browning 1886 SRC made in the very early 90s (1991,1992 or 1993). Other than those two runs, Browning didn't make any more 86s IIRC.

I agree with you Doc. Even better would be if every gun owner actually belonged to the NRA! Unfortunately that won't happen. But in the meantime, if every NRA member bought a non-NRA member fellow gun owning friend a one year membership in the NRA, we could at least double the enrollment.

I received as a gift a NIB 44 Mag Model 1894 back in 1975. That thing jammed from the getgo! Sent it back for repair, and it was returned with a new carrier. Sounds like the perfect solution, right? You'd think so but it still jammed......

I have both (Browning and Rossi) and can honestly say if I had to choose one over the other as far a quality goes, the Browning wins every time. The Rossi is nice but my preference go to the B92.

Nice Ruger in a great caliber. As for your 40 S&W cylinder, you pretty much have a 38-40 right there! I love the 38-40 and will get a revolver chambered for it to go along with the Browning B92 I had re-barreled for it.

On that TV show hosted by Jim Scouten was where I saw Bob Munden doing a lot of segments of long range handgun shooting. Yeah, he "walked them in" to the target but was entertaining. He seemed like the kind of guy you'd love to sit and talk to all day.

Elmer Keith knew what the holdover was for 600 yd shooting because he's made hits at that distance with a 44 magnum revolver. Don't remember if he elaborated on it though. I'm sure Bob Munden had reasonable experience trying it as well.

WInchester really needs to get on the ball and have Miroku make a run of the 1895s in 303 British. Their catalog now lists 30-06, 30-40 Krag and 405WCF. Sounds like reasonable costs involved. Speaking of C. Sharps, I find it kind of interesting that they have not made rolling blocks. Stainless steel Kahr pistols have always appealed to me but I've never had a chance to fire one. They look to be well made and while I'd probably opt for the K9, I'd be curious as to how the durability and reliability of the MK9 is.
