Griff, a friend who is WAY off the grid fired up a straight six (GM) on blocks in his shop, and runs his whole place on one quart of fuel a day. He is no newcomer to off grid living, been out in the sticks since Nixon. His place has modern amenities.

I've never submerged a part, always just used Qtips, but with guitars we are talking much thinner pieces of wood. Marlin wood being really thick, Im thinking it might take awhile. You are right about the volume of the break open airgun. Got one for the Boy on his BD. LOUD. We shot a .22 recently with a supressor that was way quieter shooting Aguilla subsonic loads. Seems the air gun was 10x louder.

I have the big yeti and it will keep ice for 4-5 days in the desert. The trick is to cool it down with ice the day before you stick stuff in it. It is also rated for dry ice, I have not tried that.
