hoping to get to the range this week .....

about 3 weeks ago I took a whole huge box of .45LC brass over to Ten-X Company in Montclair, CA to be reloaded.
Just got it back the other day ......

I gotta get to the range this week and start using it up.

Another thought on this topic for those of us that exist here in the People's Republic of Kalifornia, and who currently shoot a lever action caliber for which only lead bullets exist: the lead bullet ban when hunting. A .375 Winchester bolt action using Barnes .375" all-copper TSX bullets, whic...

hmmm ..... in another thread a .375 Winchester caliber bolt action rifle was discussed ....

and Barnes now makes .375 TSX bullets in 270 and 300 grain .....

hmmm, what an interesting pig hunting bullet those might be ???

Jeremy,

looks like the same ground I've covered during my several VAFB hunting trips, it is such gorgeous countryside this time of year.

I'm thinking I'll be up there in late Feb or early March.

I like Leupold for their warranty, and I'll agree with edsguns about the Burris 3-9x40 Fullfield II. I have two of 'em and like 'em very much .... great brightness and clarity, and the price is certainly right.

just thinking out loud, bolt-action in .375 Winchester?

Here's a topic for discussion that's been rattling around in my head for awhile, so I'd like to open up the floor to discuss the pro's and con's of a bolt-action rifle in .375 Winchester. I have no understanding of what makes a good lever action cartridge, or a good bolt action cartridge, or a good ...

I'll suggest a more "up to date" book, in the sense that the author (who was the Intel officer on Kimmel's staff on Dec 7th) had access to new info that was still classified when Prange wrote his book. And I Was There : Breaking the Secrets - Pearl Harbor and Midway by Rear Admiral Edwin T...

how about this idea: 2 rifles for the price of one: something in .375 Winchester caliber.
The Winchester BigBore94 in that caliber can handle both .375 Winchester and .38-55 Winchester calibers.
I imagine a Marlin would do no less.

A great caliber for hog hunting.

find Kramer Junction (intersection of Hwy's 58 & 395).
from Kramer Junction: go 13.4 miles north along 395.
turn east, go 7.5 miles on the dirt road.
thereabouts is Freemont Peak.

I was adjacent to Freemont Peak, there's a nice area to do some target shooting, nice and quiet, with a safe downrange area.

old savage,

you got that mostly right .... it ain't because I can see the target better, it's because I can see the target at all !!

I put your wise advice to use this past Thursday out near China Lake during a day's shooting .....
