Mine is a Trapper model, purchased new in 2003. I've had it all apart and smoothed up the action/trigger pull/etc, it is nice and smooth now, great trigger feel/pull. It very much prefers 250-gr +P ammo, which I've found to be very accurate.

NICE SIG !! great looking pistol.
I've always been a 1911 fan because: 1) it can be easily disassembled down to the smallest component and then everything smoothed-up and worked-over; 2) reassembly is as easy as disassembly.

if you really want to redneck it: schmoosh lots of 2-tube epoxy into the crack. Then a turn of baling wire around the perimeter of the handle, with a twist or three to squeeze it up tight and prevent further opening of the crack. Griff, I just measured/estimated the center-of-bore to top-of-sight distance: 0.885", give or take .... a healthy 0.135" difference. And the barrel length (from back of chamber to muzzle) is 20". The true problem here is of course that iron sights and my eyes are not at all compatible...

A perfect SoCal day at Burro Canyon range .... 95 degrees, and it was a dry heat !! Put the target at 50 yards. I just measured my sight above the base: 0.143"
Malamute's sight is .225" .....
pshort thinks I need around .225" more sight .....
