Re: what new gun are you planning on buying this year

I was a little out of control in 2008, and left the newsroom for a low-paying job at Sportsman's Warehouse so don't have near the funds that I am used to. But of course now I handle firearms all day long five days a week, and it can be agony. At the top of my current short list: A Benelli Montefeltr...

I was fortunate to own and shoot a Merrill for a few months several years ago. I tracked one down because my great-granddad may have carried one in the Third Wisconsin Cavalry during the Civil War. It was a lot of fun to shoot with proper bullets (thank you Tony Beck!) and I was not only impressed w...

I'm glad to see choice in the marketplace, but really prefer my leverguns in rifle calibers to have barrels of 24 inches or more. I especially love it when the .30 WCF is really allowed to show its stuff and perform in a 26-inch barrel.

We had to do this a couple of years ago with a dog we adopted that proved to be very aggressive -- too much so for the humane society to accept her. I felt like such a heel, but I know it was the right thing to do, and the vet absolutely agreed. Glad your family is OK.
