Pillar, the mold you are thinking of is a nose pour mold. I've never used one but have read they are a bit more demanding to work with than a base pour mold. Not sure if anyone offers them as a standard line or if you would need to order a custom job.

What is a standard dowel size in the US?
A .357 is 9.1 mm, or 3/8".
Here in Oz 8mm is a common dowel size, that's 5/16". That should be plenty big enough.

I got a used Marlin 32-20 10 years ago and someone had already altered the sight when I got it.
What they did was file the top off the buckhorn and square the U to make it a little wider and a little more open, just like a handgun rear sight.
Works perfectly and I wouldn't change it for anything else.

I don't use lube normally, but if I'm doing a big batch of nickel cases I will because nickel is tougher than brass. It does make them slip through the die easier, so less strain on my arthritis.

Well that didn't take long.
Sixgun's suggestion to adapt something else got me looking for something else.
I've got a set of RCBS cowboy dies for my 32-20 and once you get past the .311 sizing shank the mouth flaring section goes out to about .500.
It adds an extra step in the press, but it will work.

I'm also a fan of the 357, although mine is the 1894 CB with the 20" oct. barrel.
I do like the look of that Redfield receiver sight on yours. Mine wears a Lyman, but for good looks I'd switch to one of those Redfields, if they were less like hens teeth over here.
