Paul, My idea of airline security goes like this: As you board your plane there is a large barrel full of baseball bats right next to the door. If you would like a bat to take on board you take one from the barrel. Should the bat need to be deployed while in transit you will have plenty of help. Whe...

Tis a shame more people aren't here to enjoy the benefits of our combined intellectual power.

BTW, did Terry M. make it yet?

Y'all might not like this, but... to tell you the truth I'm getting tired of hearing about it because when I think about 9/11 all I can think about is the lack of commitment our government has towards doing anything meaningful about it. It would be like if you son threw a baseball through the window...

This thread got me to thinkin. I went and looked on Track of the Wolf at their kits. They say their trade gun is their best beginner gun. It takes about 40 hours to complete for the first time builder.
I'm thinking about a .62 cal (20 ga.) with a 36" barrel.

Scott, Something else that might help you would be a wading staff like a fly fisherman uses. The one I got for my son for his birthday came from Cabelas. It is a Folstaf 3/4" size. They are on sale right now for $99.99. I realize you like to use a set of cross sticks or even a tripod, but if yo...

Kirk, I had forgotten all about that. We did that once with our church. One of our guys had made several set of .22 silhouettes and wall went out to a ranch where we had plenty of room and had a match. It was a great time. Our youth group also does paintball and it has turned out to be one of the mo...

Scott, When I shot ML matches I used to put a shade over my front sight that I had made from a piece of 1" copper pipe. I had a section of pipe that was about 1 1/2" long that I took and split length ways. Then I spread it apart at the split until the edges would fit in the small groove th...

Just a good cleaning of the tube might go a long way. Try running patches down there and see what comes out. I wouldn't disassemble anything until everything else failed.

I could do that as well I guess. I think the stock geometry is a little different on the #1 so it wi...

It shouldn't be a problem if you only use a small amount. you should have a metal casing that runs down into the ground quite a way that will act to seperate it from the gas. Just don't go overboard.

Consider it a step back in history too. For all practical purposes that's the same rifle that Annie Oakley used. I think someone once said that the M39 is the oldest continually made rifle in history. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

IMHO the ultimate would be a S&W 27 or 28 depending on what barrel length you can handle. the M28 4" is the handiest. the M27 5" will give you a little more sight radius without being whippy. If you don't want something quite that large you could go in descending order to a S&W &qu...

Old vs. New

I realize in history our Govt arms "basically" went from the .58 cal. ML's shooting mini balls to the .45-70 breach loader. I was wondering if anyone here has done any studies on what if anything was gained besides speed of reloading? There's no doubt the old .58's did a lot of damage. 600...
