Yeah, the "downsized version" with aluminum frame. Supposed to be 80% the size of the old 1911, 45 a.c.p. and a lot lighter in weight due to both smaller and the aluminum frame.

Recoil pad that won't hang-up on clothing
The new Browning A5 shotgun has a recoil pad that is "slick" and therefore won't hang-up on clothing when shouldering the gun. Does anyone here know of manufacturers of this type of recoil pad? I'll have to go to the Browning site and see if they offer this pad on some of their other guns ...

Here's an article about the Remington model 1100. Note they say it, thus far, has proven to be the most reliable of semi-auto shotguns. I have the LT-20 like they used in their test. Although it's further inland than you plan to be, Yosemite National Park would be the number one choice, for many people, of what to see in California. Believe May is the prime month for the beautiful water falls but maybe April is also pretty good. A really beautiful place.
