It was right where I thought it should be ... scary, huh? The article address was www.sixgunner.com/mcpherson/charterarms44.htm Unfortunately it doesn't work. He has detailed results on 13 different bullets giving velocities, penetration, and expantion results. I have referred to it lots of times fo...

Found an interesting .38-55
I went along with a buddy to a shop I had never visited and found an interesting .38-55. It is a conversion done on an older 336. The action is smooth and the barrel appears to be 26 inches with the contour similar to a featherweight Model 70 Winchester. It looks like it has been around for a while ...

I also have to give a nod of the head to people who have convictions and stick to them. I also give a nod to them if they also respect another's right to disagree. Some of them have been a smudge on the toilet paper of history while some have been fine examples to live by. Some have been totally bli...

I've loaded 110 grain spitzers (not V-Max, obviously) for the past 35+ years. They've shot and worked great in any .30-30 I've used. That velocity figure quoted above is probably pretty close but I've never chronographed any loads. I load for maximum accuracy and usually end up in the top 1/4 of the...

It's not a lever gun but it does have a lever. It is a Savage 24 and it is chambered in 20 gauge and .30-30!!!!!!!
That is a combination that trips my trigger big time. I almost have the $$ for the Little Sharps and this appears ... it's not right. Why was I born good looking and not rich.

If I'm wrong please correct me ... Generally, loads using Lil Gun and 110/296 tend to be fairly top end ... that's where those powders really shine. Any loads that are at or near top end will cause heat. The amount can vary with the firing frequency. I've loaded some very vigorous top end loads with...

Hillary Clinton and her driver were cruising along a country road one evening when an ancient cow loomed in front of the car. The driver tried to avoid it but couldn't - the aged bovine was struck and killed. Hillary told her driver to go up to the farmhouse and explain to the owners what had happen...

A pretty good friend has a PAIR of the $$$$$$$$ kind. He had the standard ones that are similar to the hunting type for years. The pricy ones are digital and are set to the specific pitch range the person needs. It doesn't just make all things louder. It still seems like they are too expensive though.
