Re: Winchester 94
Yes, it does have the crossbolt safety, not the tang style. That is very helpful information, Thank you all. The checked stocks may not be original wood. The checkered stocks provide much better surface for tired hands. I installed skinner peep in factory holes and recommend front skinner. The facto...

Very effective.i do have one 1895 in 06 but with 24 inch barrel hard to maneuver in close quarters. Thank...

Best screw driver / tool kit
Hello everyone, I got such good advice from first post, I really appreciate everyone's opinion. I went to install uncle mikes sling swivel Ring on magazine tube on winchester 1894, instructions seem straightforward . Started to remove forend clamp screw, turned 1.5 times. Screw Head buggered up, I d...

Ruger 3 screw
I came across 2 - 1966 ruger 357 blackhawks, very good shape 85 - 90 %, no transfer safety bar on either. I gave one to a buddy as a gift. he sent it to ruger to have transfer bar installed. Ruger told him it was to old, but would send him a new one. My question is would you prefer to have pristine ...

Re: Winchester 1895 peep sights
Installed skinner barrel mount on an 1894 that has been in servise about 45 years. I wanted to practice on that before I started on my 1895. I removed a set of truglo sights with hopes I could use truglo front, but it was way to high, original front sight was right height. 50 yard groups were about ...

Thank you, for your reply, I dont think I would like having the windage adjustment all the way to one side. Can you describe the process you used for drilling the bolt?

Hello, I am new here. I have a 1895 winchester reproduction that I would like to put a peep sight on. I have found 2 redfield 102E model sights from different suppliers. One is described for winchester 1895 and other described for 1894. Does anyone know if the redfield 102E does indeed fit 1895 winc...
