Depends on how far you want to drag the hog. I’ll take a true rifle round over a handgun round as it’s likely to anchor the critter quicker with equal shot placement. What he said! I um... have at least 4 or 5 mkII's and was just gifted a competition target MKIV I haven't gotten out yet to shoot.
This one you don't have to have gravity shoe's to hang upside down to reassemble ;)

Well David, you might think of it this way. If we both take 40 rds mine is lighter. I can get 1800 fps for the rifle for better trajectory, you can't get close without really pushing the rifle, Those rounds would likely blow Colt. Paco had that happen. The rifle could handle anything up close that ...

Well I thought of that after I had drilled and weld all the pins in on the texas star ;)

That sounds like and interesting thing to try I just need some flat pin's, that shouldn't be hard to find.

So it was probably 7 or 8 bits for 10 holes, they were cheap it's just a bit painful to do the 10 holes took several hours.
I just wanted to know this is "right" way (if I want clean holes)

The plates fit on pins that would be a big ugly for pins.

You put the plate on two pins, I drilled 1/4 holes, put in bolts (welded), cut off equal with plat, and hold it one the back with a clamp which pops off when the plate is pushed (shot).

Ok that's what I was doing, I was dropping a lot of oil to cool but I think I still kept getting a bit to hot it was either the depth or maybe the sides are a bit harder from treatment. I'm just glad I found Lowels 5 pack for 7.95 set of bits.

I've seen things they call blue that are down right ugly but there's nothing like a nice blue or case hardening.
The most beautiful blue I've ever seen was on a Weatherby rifle, WOW those Japanese make the more beautiful blue.

I have a very early P229 (early 90's?) the stainless slide it's still perfect.
I however wax my firearms with Renaissance, which is a carry over from my antiques however use Rem oil vs whale oil (stinky) ;)

Silly me I thought a lite load was a lighter bullet.
I always shot a 300gr but it was in a TC with a 14 inch mag-na-port barrel and it wasn't bad but anything larger would quickly rip your arm off.
