Re: The 25 Calibers
I love, love, love my Model 99A Savage in .250-3000, aka 250 Savage -- it's the first and only rifle with which I "saw my bullet hit the deer" in the scope's view. It's such a mild-mannered round on the shoulder -- but was more damaging to the deer's! My late father used to sing its praise...

Hello all:
I did email, and learned that Lenn and Norma are hunkered down for a cold winter, with very few projects to post about. I'm sure he'll be back here once he gets out in the shop come spring.
Until then, let's send some positive thoughts and prayers their way.

Sure seems like a candidate for a reline or rebore. No doubt about it... 1873 bore.jpg Yikes, that looks like the "sewer pipe" of a barrel that was on my late father's .22 LR Martini single shot, which had been shot with corrosive ammo and not cleaned well afterwards (years before he acqu...

Average Maine State Police response time in parts of Aroostook County is now 45 minutes. AVERAGE. Some calls have taken 2 hours...... Yikes! We had them here (northwest York county) in ~5 minutes once years ago (for a false alarm), but I'm glad I haven't had to "test it" more often! Old No7

Now don't all too excited, as this isn't a great knife... It's a cheap $30 made-offshore D Guard Bowie. I'd bet that one whack on a watermelon would cause the "full length tang" to break -- that's cause it's a small weld barely holding the blade onto a length of threaded rod. But that's O...
