Custer Documentary Near Completion
A friend and I have been pursuing what happened to the personal effects taken from the Custer soldiers for quite a few years. We made a teaser video about 5 years ago and the History Channel picked it up and filmed for about 5 weeks the fall of 2016. We saw some video of the uncompleted project and ...

Finding a 1873 SRC in 38-40
After months of looking for the right 1873 SRC, I finally found one. Finding a 1873 SRC with any condition is hard enough, but to find it in 38-40 is even harder. My research turns up less than 6000 were made in 38-40. It is a nice gun... https://i.imgur.com/SvkFXbAl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/xzv5XQ5l...

Re: Rare Early Whitney Kennedy 45-60 Rifle Double Set Trigge
The Whitney Kennedy shares a lot of design similarities with the 1881 Marlin, and Colt Burgess. What are the quirks of the Whitney Kennedy? For instance, I've read feeding from magazine to chamber wasn't the most reliable on the early 1881 models. That's a very nice looking example, Shrapnel. I hav...

I would think the method mentioned would also prevent the liner from being pushed out of the bore. The liners Brownell's has listed is for the lower velocity calibers, 25-20, 38-40 & 44-40 and as long as the liner has a good crown the end of the bore at the muzzle could be oversize and it would...

A local gunsmith around here will reline a barrel and ream it from the breech, stopping short of the muzzle.
