Re: Incident In The Superstition Mountains

When outdoors like that, if I find that I am trailing someone, I give a friendly shout. From there we can work out a mutually agreeable situation. If they want to be left alone, why not? Things can occur in the back country, and it is always helpful to not antagonize those you meet on the trail. I c...

Sounds like it is enough for almost anything. No experience with the 44 Special, but those numbers seem to be in a good range. Enough power without a lot of recoil. How often do you really need more? Probably not all that often.

Proof that even knowing what to avoid doesn't always make you avoid it. Having bandages, super glue, and black pepper when hunting or shooting is always a good idea. For those who are on blood thinners, black pepper sprinkled on the bleeding areas stops the bleeding and clots it faster than anythin...

It’s accuracy enough to make up for the lack of power and I don’t think your typical Antifa soy boy is any tougher than a coyote. My experience is from Army training, but not actual combat. Absolutely. Accuracy is paramount to full power. A .480 with standard weight bullets (300-370) will cleanly take anything in the lower 48, and do great on most everything in Africa. I think the ability to shoot accurately and put your shot exactly where you want to, is much better than firing a how...

.480 Ruger was made by Rossi. They run to a maximum of 48,000 psi. Honestly, that pressure is not necessary for most critters, but it is nice to know that you can get there if something big and dangerous needs to be whacked. That psi would be pretty hot in a .45 Colt caliber, but it certainly means ...
