Winchester 88 trigger pull
Has anyone else measured the trigger weight on their 88? Was playing with a new Lyman digital trigger gauge, tried it on my restocked model 88 and got an average of 5.75 lbs. That's compared to: 336sc 35rem measured 3.5 lbs Pre WWI 30wcf 1894 src measured just over 4 lbs Crossfire trails 1876 carbin...

SD Myres holster model?
Anyone have one of the old SD Myres El Paso catalogs or recognise this model? I'm curious about this one with the extended front, maybe rear sight protector?

The small town I grew up in was divided by the Arkansas river. Guys would bow fish from the bridge and shooters would drive down around the bend and shoot whatever they brought and mostly clean up after themselves. If you wanted to hunt, there were old pecan orchards everywhere for squirrels or you ...

1894 Winchester SRC and a story
Always wanted an old 1894 Winchester src and brought one home today. The outside is pretty worn, but the bore is bright. Made in 1910 and came from the family that inherited Emmett Dalton's estate. The local shop tried to tie it to Dalton but there's no paper trail. Good story though. https://adobe....

Thanks Joe, hadn't thought of that. They also might have followed Winchester's example and used whatever they had on hand. I might switch it with the smith ladder anyway. I've been wanting to see how the full buckhorn would work as a close range ghost peep.

Thanks Guys, I thought about filing that rear sight to a shallow V like an express sight but with a notch or just swapping it out with either an old Smith full buckhorn 1873 ladder sight or a 3 leaf tangent. I'll try the paint first. Thanks for the ideas,

https://lightroom.adobe.com/shares/a2cc9a985a0f4daab11087cf6035daa2 Why did Uberti use the small ladder sight? I've seen larger 1876 ladder sights on the original 1876 rifles. Also, has anyone figured out a better front sight yet? I love this carbine bit it's dang near impossible to get a good sight...
