Re: .44 Special Loads Over The Years - All With bullet #429421
I've noticed over the years that using Unique in the .44 Special and .45 Colt, you can figure about 100 fps per grain of powder. It varies of course from gun to gun and with barrel lengths, but that Skeeter load will give an honest 800 fps and better in the .44. And a grain more in the .45 Colt give...

Uberti's I have looked at recently have been finished inside and out pretty nicely and fitted well. And shot great. At today's prices for a shooter you have to work hard to do better.

I have the twin of Jim's but obviously without the inscription and engraving. Here it is with the 45 acp cyl (pretty much permanently installed) I pretty much have the ACP cylinder in mine also. 45 ACP SIXGUN
This is from years and years ago, during the life of the old Sixgunner.Com website. I picked up an Old Model Ruger .357 Magnum and sent it to Jim Stoh. I wanted a "pocket pistol" in .45 ACP. I had "flat-topped" it and recut the rear sight. Jim rebarreld it and rechambered the cyl...

I had been feeding the cows one Spring and as I pulled out of the pasture I saw a big turtle sitting on a rock in the pond below me. I grabbed my .32-20 Marlin and got out, went back and leaned over the bed with rifle, shooting across the bed. I had the sights right on the turtle at about 40 yards w...

I showed up at our local range one time with a pencil barrel Model 10 and coffee can of reloads. The RO spotted it and ambled over. He turned out to be a retired Deputy Sheriff, and of course his first duty gun was a Model 10. We agreed that if you couldn't have a good time with a 10 and a can of a...

Grew up shooting .38s and .45s. I put a lot of rounds through my dads Officers Model Match. This Royal Hong Kong Police surplus .38 Spl has become my all time favorite Model 10. I was talking with some friends about the S&W Model 10
It got me to dig out my Model 10 and do some shooting with it. The Model 10's are normally such amazingly fine shooting guns that it's hard to ignore them. This one is no different. It was a Police gun before I got it. I bought it as an unbarreled import. Originally a 2" gun I fitted a 4" ...

I use some wire strippers and just put the round in the shellholder and raise the ram to where I can grip the bullet just above the case mouth and lower the ram.
