I have a 4 and half ish inch SUper Blackhawk in 44 mag that I can shoot Specials out of but I don't have any handgun in 38-40 or 44-40 sooooo my train of thought has transferred tracks. I have two older Marlins in 38-40 and I think 38-40 might be more interesting than 44 special.

GK I have a few of the Hawes, one in 44, 2 in 357 with one being a target version(haha), and two 22's now. Gunny it actually has the original jigged bone plastic grips with no cracks!

Hard to tell from the picture but does it have a cross bolt safety? Also good to know the year of manufacture. Most of the kids were gone before the staff started shooting. A couple of the staff had their kids hanging around, and I offered a 15 year old the chance to shoot it. "HA NO WAY TOMMY! was his response. I gotta do something about a tang sight for it though.

A Rossi is also good to own if you want to modify a gun substantially. I have a Rossi in 38/357 but I had the barrel threaded and I would not do that to an original 1892. Besides if I 6 it up who cares, I am out $260 bucks>

Brownell's also offers gun specific set such as Winchester 1892, Marlin 336, they include all the bits for the exact screws on that gun.

I see that you want full length sizing so I respect your opinion on that buuuuut, I have not had any issues when using my 50-70 dies for my 50-100-450. I am using one set of brass in one gun, it has not been a problem for me. Good luck with your search.

You know Jay that is exactly how I feel about AR's and Glocks. I have cool (in my opinion) lever guns a neat M1A, some pretty accurate bolt guns for distance, and they are GUNS, to be revered, handled carefully ect. Glocks and AR's.... tools only.
