AJ take a larger sized hex wrench and file it with a good long file to fit. Not sure on the airgun scope thingy, but several Nikons I have on various .223's and a .308 both have the thing you turn (never was good with terms) that makes the crosshairs nice and crisp for a semi-old guy like myself. In your case Nikon makes a 1-4X that would fit the bill nicely.--------------6
