Re: Remington 788 --- Anyone have any experience to share?

Like the other guys have said, excellent gun. It was discontinued because it put a hurtin on the sales of the 700. It's a rear locking bolt gun.....unusual. I've shot them in 308, 44 mag. and .222?. Can't remember, it was many years ago but I thought it was a 22 center fire. I owned one in 44 mag an...

Re: Advice sought on Win 70 in 22-250 converted to 250 Sav

Thats a tough call. Even in near perfect shape the gun is not worth more than 5 bills. So...why you buy the gun for $250 and sink another $250 for the barrel and a couple of hundred more for installation????? I'd forget about it. $100 tops and tell them why. What I would do is give them $100 and the...

Sixgun: back in the mid-late 1970’s what were 1886’s going for? Remember seeing them around, but unfortunately I never took an interest. My interest in single shots and lever guns was rekindled when I transitioned from muzzleloaders to black powder cartridge rifles in the mid 1980’s. At that time, ...

Not quite sure if I have the credentials to answer that question. I've been shooting 45-70's out of several different 1886 Winchesters in 45-90 for only 39 years.
