I can't add much to the above suggestions -- J-frame, P3AT, PM9 or PM40, Rohrbaugh (wish I had the means!) -- all are good. But it does seem to me that the front pocket carry makes the most sense to me (which tends to leave out the J-frame). So, to that end, I'm now investing in "tactical"...

I've been reloading 44's for a few years (still a neophyte compared to many on this board, though) and find I can do it for $5-7/box of 50. If we were on the old board, I'd give you links to threads where I went into detail of the costs. Do a Google for "reloading calculator". Some of the ...

Shooting related sites

Need some help. I recently got a new computer from work, and in the upgrade process, my Favorites didn't come over. So I now need to rebuild all of my shooting sites into my browser. I have the major ones, like Gunbroker, Auction Arms, here, and the handgun forums (glock, THR, TFL). What else do I n...

KirkD...I think you are right on. I know I'm getting a little ornery since I haven't put any lead downrange in a couple of months. I'm going to spend the next couple of nights loading up some and try your cure for what ails me.

I'll offer an observation...I think the forum has declined since we moved, and maybe as a result of the move. Here is some speculation: Some regulars got frustrated with the "it's up; it's down" of the old forum We were posting on two different forums, and lost thread continuity, so it bec...

There is a gun shop in Manassas that I've been to. It's a little place with the standard sort of inventory...and not many guns in stock. I don't know if that's the same one you have in mind.

Noah, Thanks for the heads up about the shop in Berryville and Middleburg. Haven't been to either one, but will check them out. It's sad, but in today's world of the Internet, Gunbroker, SASS, Auction Arms, THR, etc. not sure how any of these shops stay in business with having to charge a fair profi...

Noah, Certainly not worth the drive. In years past, the Dulles/Chantilly show took up both buildings, with booths crowded into the space. The last one I went to in November, was only at one of the buildings at the Expo center, and the booths only sparsely filled that. Of course, they used to only do...

I'm not an expert, like many here on the forum, but have come up with a number of loads over the last couple of years that work well in my .44 Trapper and Ruger Vaquero combo. In addition to the loads mentioned for 2400, I also like AA #5 (10.4-12.5 gr) and AA#9 (17-19.5) with my 240 gr. SWC lead bu...

My prayers are with you in this venture, and for a safe trip in a dangerous part of the world. God bles...

Spent one summer at the beach working on, and perfecting, any number of receipes. The ingredients can vary, same with the amounts. Here's mine. I took the leather from a baseball mitt stringing kit, added some gun oil to it to darken it and also protect the lever under the wrap.
