Ray,

I bought a police trade-in Glock 17 (9mm).
It was not much more than the .40 and lets me use the less expensive 9mm ammo.
It is just a range toy. I wouldn't bet my life on a used and abused police trade-in.

I shoot .50 cal cast bullets from my .500 S&W Handi Rifle without checks.
Reason being that checks are an unwanted expense.
I punch 1/2" disks from polyethylene and put one under each bullet.
My case full load of 777 keeps the disk against the base of the bullet.

Maybe a levergun in .454 Casull would be a useful compromise.
It would share .45 Colt ammo with the revolver for many purposes, but approach 45-70 ballistics with 300 grain and heavier bullets in .454 loadings.

You can use a power supply that is rated for more amps as long as it Is 9VDC.
So a 9V/1000MA or 9V/1500MA supply would work, a 9V/350MA would probably fail.
Power supply voltage is generally non negotiable.

I watched a bunch of youtube videos to find that a 1-pt sling hangs down between your knees and makes moving about difficult unless you use one hand to control the rifle.
A 2-pt sling can be cinched up to hold the rifle against your body, making it possible to run, walk, climb more easily.
