Liquid is approximately 7 pounds to the gallon, and the weight of the sprayer, and you start with somewhere around 30 to 35 pounds on your back, then walk with it. No, you are not out of shape for your age. A 24 year old Ranger would be carrying closer to 75 pounds, but how many of us were capable o...

Re: 22 TCM, And The 5.7
I can see a use for the 22 TCM. It might be a good small varmint caliber, and it is easily switched to a 9mm. For woods walking where nothing bigger than a coyote is likely to be seen, it should be really nice. You would have the benefit of using the gun which you are familiar with. I do not know an...

I carry what I can conceal and shoot well. The best ammunition that I can purchase is in it. When I am in the woods or someplace such as where a larger firearm is not out of place, I carry a larger pistol in a larger caliber. Again, it is one which I can shoot well. I don't like that machine. I use the calculator on my phone to come up with the tip, and sometimes will increase it for really good service. Curmudgeon is not the right word for someone who is offended by discourtesy. I would say the person is probably just aware of their self worth.

Sounds as if the hole saw and tannerite is the best solution to me. You can get far enough away that the tree cannot fall on you when the tannerite goes off. Putting it in is the dangerous part, since, as you say, parts break off of those trees at random times.

Horses and cattle tend to want to be part of a herd, and that is in our favor when we try to make them go somewhere. If you count on the herd instinct too strongly, you will be in for a shock. Jeepnik, it seems smart to me that a lawman would carry a 12 gauge, and try to avoid gunfights. If you miss, the bullet still goes somewhere. An innocent bystander might be injured. If you are hit, you might die, or you might not. Either way, why risk injury.
