Im going to be the odd guy out and will say I probalby never get back on one again. I borrowed one from a guy and used it a few times with no real results until the last time I used it. Ended my show today selling some GI Borg Warner M14 mags and a Martini SS 22 rifle. The only things I bought where some Omish canned goods. The pickled garden mix is outstanding.

I set up at our show today. Record crowds but I did not sell any gas operated rifles. There where plenty of them to be had from 1300 and up. The only one I sold was an original English made 11ga percussion shotgun.

Marbles still makes a tang sight for the Marlin 27 so you may keep that in mind. I got lucky on my Rem 25 as it has a original Lyman tang/receiver sight.

The Marlin 27 and Rem 25 are both light weight and slick little rifles. I have both and they may be an option. I did look a very nice Colt 32 at a show once and it was a very nice rifle also. I would buy on price and condition for value down the road.

I'm considering buying one in 44 cal. I have never owned one of these rifles so if someone knows about them please chime in. I don't have any first hand experience with the others so I will not comment on them. The only ...

I dont remember the brand but it is all leather and uses a special knot for adjustment. All one needs to do is slide it to the size they want and it stays. Very clever and well made. Bought mine at Cabelas.
I just went and looked at it and it's the Montana leather on a Rem 700 CDL in 243.

I have no idea which is the best as I'm a SxS guy and have only owned three auto loading shotguns ever. First was an Ithica mag 10 that was good untill the steel shot thing came about. After that was a Rem 1100 special field that was a good gun and lastly is a Beretta 390 that is my duck and muck gun.

They are both great guns ...
