I never had one but based on the fact that it's a long 357 Mag case, I would suggest the mag pistol powders. More powder to light off. Check with the folks at GB outdoors http://www.go2gbo.com/forums/index.php. Scroll down the page a bit to the H&R forums. Great bunch of folks and they have done...

Thanks, this is good to know. we don't get cell reception in the hollow (hollar) we live in - and our only internet option is this little verizon device that plugs into a usb slot on the computer and it barely gets reception enough to get online - but only if we sit right next to a window. Ok I got all the parts I ordered. I installed the cartridge guide and just to see it function I stuck a 307 case in the magazine and tried to cycle the bolt. Tried! Silverback
You can stuff more rounds down in the magazine of my bolt guns, empty chamber or not, but the bolt DOES have to be open, if that was what you were referring to? If that was the case then I agree with you. Short of a detachable magazine that you pop out and refill.

Get the BLR and a few extra mags. I usually carry two extras when hunting, and a few loose rounds. If you run the BLR dry, you can throw one in the chamber and close the action, but you can also change the mag out, very quickly, for a fresh loaded one. That's about as good as it gets. You can't top...
