When the media gets black, about a year later, I dump it in a 5 gal bucket and soak it in a cup of Tide...

I agree the 35 Rem. is more versatile than the 38-55.......and .....much easier to load for as the tolerences are very uniform.....just about anything you stick in it will shoot accurately......including cheap lead pistol bullets. I would go the extra mile and get a Ballard rifled Marlin or a Reming...

The way they are made doesn't lend themselves to "tightening" them up easily or with any sort of permanence. Put a tang sight on it and never look back. k Brent, I have no idea who told you that but after playing with a dozen or so of bolt peep 71's over the years, I have never seen that....

Some Colt factory experimental 1911 A1's from the 1920's just came in along with a 1940's factory experimental double action 1911 and a few newer experimental Colt Double Eagle 1911's in 10 mm. Pete, There is not a mark of any kind anywhere on the rifle......no address....no proof marks.....no nothing. The only thing that shows its a Marlin is the "waffle top" receiver. There is no dovetail for a rear barrel sight. You can see on the side of the receiver where the hole was drille...
