A friend of mine went to the SHOT show and he said he saw and handled one of the new Winchester model 1873 rifles in .38/.357 Magnum ($1299) and oddly enough he said he would rather have the Rossi 92.

I contacted Rossi/Braztec and Ram-line customer service by phone and put a bug in their ear about maybe offering synthetic stocks for the stainless model '92 lever guns to make them [all weather] or as a after market item and they said they would pass it along.

Been to Alaska, Hawaii and western Caribbean. I loved the Alaskian inside passage, Hawaii and Mexico, not so much.

I should have mentioned that I'm using Lyman 158gn 358156 gas check, SWC cast lead bullets for both the 38 special, OAL 1.450" and 357 Magnum, OAL 1.590", a difference of .140". They work but the 357 Magnum catches if I lever it too slowly.
