Six, the converting from 6 to 5 shot is more hand( pawl) work than anything else. The steps get changed to lift the ratchet on the cylinder. Pretty simple.

I had to open the frame some, the diameter of the 44 cylinder required it. 4&1/2" barrel . While I lived in CO this lived in my fishing vest, lots of bears where I fished.

Used to use 3 or 4 ounces of cannon grade BP in my buddies dads cannon, tennis balls fit the bore nicely, as did beer cans frozen ( with water) . The tennis balls were like tracers, the fuzz burned off leaving a trail.
