My coworker has one in 6.8 spc. It's kills deer. It's a .277 bullet on a shortened 30 rem case. Basically 30-30 ballistics. A good choice for deer hunting. Just not for me. Seems that if you wanted a 30 cal you could neck this case back up to it.

One of the local shops has a model 14 in 32 Rem for $329. I can't seem to come up with the cash. My neighbor hunts with a 141 in 35 rem. Next to my leverguns they are very mechanicaly cool. Much more than the later rem pumps. But one in 25 Rem would be the sweetest in my opinion.

This story is sad . We assume he doesn't have other children to provide for. This person will never be the same. Jail time doesn't help the family. Actually death of children has a high percentage of divorce because of blame for the childs death, for any cause of death.

It's the most accurate levergun that I own. I just picked up some speer 180 gr rn. They have a different shape than the Rems . I haven't had a chance to try them yet. Does the carbine have a 20 or 22 inch barrel?

Grizzly if it's like mine in 30-06 it has real short throat ,unlike the Krag rifle. I can't use the 180 gr rem round nose because the bullet contacts the rifling so hard that it won't eject a loaded round. I have to tap it out with a cleaning rod.

That's a cool rifle. But I agree with Sixgun. The bolt is too polished looking and the levers case coloring is much too faded as compared to how bright the bluing is, they don't show the same aging. Still a cool rifle.

Same observation. I handled one the quality was good. But the wood was the drawback . You can get a Marlin for less money in the stained hardwood or for little more get a Marlin with walnut.

But I would have no problem owning one. I like the design.

Handloader is one my favorites. The 32-20 article was a good one about what you can get out of the round. I liked the fact that they listed pressures with some of their hotter loads for rugers. It was good reference info.

My leverguns are 4 to 4 1/2 lbs. As long as there is not alot of creep I'm usually O.K. I usually do spring work to get them to where I like them. Polish stuff but never file.

Cecil, I called their yesterday and they set it a side for me until I get there on Monday.

Then once the weather gets warm I need to shoot it side by side with my other 32 H&R . The other one is the fixed sight 4 3/4 in barrel. I'll keep the one I can shoot the best the other will go.

Numrich also sells a 26" octagon 38-55 barrel top eject for $115. I'm in the process of putting one on . The blueing on it isn't the best job. I'll post a picture when I'm done. Longfin you can chamber a 375 in a 38-55 barrel or load a 38-55 as hot as a 375. But I wouldn't in a standard action....

Play with them before you buy . The long action is front heavy not near as handy as the short action and weights about a pound more. I had one in 7mm mag and got rid of it . It just didn't have the same feel as my 308.

Make sure you oil the barrel first. I use 6 inch pieces of hardwood dowels that way I don't have to start hammering one long piece, just keep adding another piece when your flush with the muzzle.
