B92 357mag range report
Tried some loads and a few factory loads at 25 yards. This is seated with iron open sights.Full buckhorn b92 rear sight sucks by the way.The notch is too narrow and the high forks hinder sighting to my eyes. A.M. Eagle 158gr SJSP 1883fps------1.25" 4 out of 5 shots Magtech 158gr SJSP (no chrony...

When you live in the big country you have to expect this
sort of thing once in a while. Here in the east we have Black bears coming into houses .Not often but it could . Hey an avalanche could come down and ruin your house or a forest fire too. Killing it doesnt guarantee next year another cat comes wandering around looking for food. I wonder if it smelled...

1000lb minimum for deer! NOT!
Ask anyone who killed efficiently with the little 22 magnum. Lights out.Or 45 colt -less than 600lbs. Thats meaningless. I believe 30-06 is overkill in our quest for more and more power we dont need.

thanks Ray. I did that after I downloaded Acrobat 8.1
It basically says to unscrew that large bolt in the center of the turret. Problem is I have the older MAG Press version with the round knurled head and large slot on top for a big screwdriver I guess. The newer version has a hex head for a wrench.Turrets are interchangeable .I wonder if I can just b...

Great photos Jeff! IS your B92 a 44 or 357?
reason I asked is because I was told theres not enough metal thickness at the front end of the barrel to make a dovetail. So I still have that tiny block with the slot in it and a small pinned blade. Maybes the 357 theres a thicker barrel but my 44 looks rather thin.

can you mount a peep aperature sight on the top of a B92?
Not the side mount types but from the top of the reciever. Is there room to drill and tap up there. And what brand of peep sight would work.

I cant imagine the suffering the Native american people
went through just simply trying to live on their own land when another government of foreign people invaded their home and systematically destroyed their lives.I bet the people of Iraq will fair better when that war is over than our own first Americans. There just was no excuse at all for it.

So of all the modern new 1892s which one is the best?
Miroku, Rossi, Navy, Cimarron,EMF?? Its a bit confusing.By best I mean no safetys, smooth reliable action ,accurate, well made ,and parts support. I realize some of them may need some tweaking work to eliminate quirks .

I still hold on to my Gibson SG stereo.Has those rosewood fretboards , original humbucking pickups and bigsby tremolo bar. Walnut colored body and the original 1971 hardshell plush case.Use to play alot of Alman Bros stuff with slide on it too. Man those were the days!

I like the SRC with the 20 " barrels. Are these reliable ,smooth working and accurate? do they have any dumb safety buttons or tangs? .Any dislikes with them? Hammer spring leaf or coil? Barrel twist rate for 45 colt?

I too have a Winchester trapper AE in 45 colt and I use
loads that work also out of my Colt NEw Frontier . That is 8.3gr Universal Clays and a 250gr Mt Baldy SWC . This gives about 900fps with the Colt and 1150fps out of the Winchester. Plenty of power for deer up to 100 yds. As for groups this winchester puts em in one ragged hole about an inch at 25 ya...

question-can a Marlin 336 in 44mag be turned to a 45 colt?
I have a nice Marlin 336 straight stock in 44 mag.I reload for 45 colt and would love to have this rifle in that caliber. Is this hard to do? Wouldnt the magazine and carrier handle the closely dimensioned 45 cartridge? Can the barrel be rebored to 45 colt going from .429 to .451"? Who could do...
