I have about 15 years to go but I figure on doing one of three things
A) Run for public office....county commissioner or school board.
B) Mission work
C) Fall off the grid entirely

Every Sunday for several years I sat next to a elderly gentleman named 'Curly'. It was not until the last year of his life I came to realize he was highly decorated USMC NCO from WWII. He had made 3 landings during the war, combat wounded a dozen times (4 purple hearts awarded). He had made the land...

Very cool project.....I'm sure we all would like to hear more about it and see some more pictures. How did you refinish the receiver? Did you replace the barrel or get it rebored? Tell us about the new wood. How does it shoot? I look forward to do something similar. I want a 38-55 carbine and a 7-30...

Mr El Mac at what point did you feel I was advocating their wholesale destruction? I was only questioning the wisdom of reintroduction. Many people seem to think that since there were wolves here or there once we should bring them back now. That was then and this is now. 300 years ago in Michigan th...

Mr El Mac....please carefully reread my posts. Elk and other game animals are hemmed in by city, highway, and natural barriers. That is why in the modern sense wolves are so much more destructive. Or put simply if you took an area say 50 mile by 50 mile and fenced it in with say 500 elk and 20 wolve...

Wolves are prolific reproducers and will devour any thing edible in their territory. The only natural limit on their population is starvation.....and that will only kick in when all the deer, elk, rabbit, etc are gone. That is not opinion.....that is sceintific fact. If you want a large population o...

One last thought....fixed power scopes are generally a little more rugged (fewer moving parts) And fixed 2X will have a wider field of view then a variable scope set at 2X. Okay you got me ... two last thoughts Wm P.S. I like fixed power scopes....my vote would be a 2X if you were doing a lot woods ...

I would advocate trying aperture sights. You might be surprised how good you can shoot them out to 200 yards. The trick is learning 'the hold over' at those longer ranges. One thing I had noticed mentioning was using a long eye relief scope in a scout set up on your rifle. You might consider that to...
