Like "they" say..make sure you have the load you want to shoot down pat. A heavier bullet will probably hit higher.

The bore is pretty bad but I found a 1" .54 caliber T/C Hawken barrel for a good price. That's one of the best things about the Renegades - the availability of barrels. You can also have it rebored - if its a 50, make it a 54... And there are replacement niples that work better available as we...

Wow, you really got a steal!! I built mine from a kit in 1980, and it was a couple hundred and some bucks back then :mrgreen: Mine was a .54 and with RB and 120gr Pyrodex P shot thru whitetail doe twice. 35-40gr of same made excellent squill and plinkers....

The Marlin trigger is prolly better.

The Winchester action prolly feeds more better.

The Marlin is easier to take apart and put back together.

I have several Marlin levers and would like to get a Winchester 94....maybe two or three :mrgreen:

I love good trout, but the lowland lake rainbows the state stocks are kind of mushy tasting....Nice catch and release fun, tho. Wash is real careful with the native trout....lot's of catch and release only...usually a single barbless hook...etc...that's ok.

Ok, here it is, I think: take an empty gun, make a descrete scribe exactly where the cyl disappears unter the top strap. Load a few ALREADY fired empties...experiment until you find the right combination.

Don't they have conversion kits for .22LR? I know the Army had them back in the '80s....we used them in an experimental short range Qualification...that pretty much sucked and didn't work out, but the conversion kit actually ran in the M16 (semi only) better than the real thing.

People at work got it. Maybe I caught something....felt like warmed over stuff for a week and weak for a couple weeks after that, but I was also just starting insulin.....My overall health was NOT good at the first of the year.

Most full-house .44 mag loads are for shooting Way Out There past the abilities of most handgun shooters. There's not too much that a 300 grain, or even a 240 grain at 1100fps won't smack down real hard. Heck, I hear 44-40 is plenty of gun for most hunting at reasonable distances.
