I would hope that Ruger would fix whatever needed fixing before sending it back. Good luck.Scott Tschirhart wrote: ↑Fri Feb 13, 2026 8:04 amLet’s see what Ruger does. It’s a shame because this is such a fine rifle and it’s a shooter.
But I’m planning on taking the action out of the stock when it comes back and fix whatever needs fixing.

The cartridge stop at the front of the link can be welded up and reshaped pretty easily. I've MIG & stick welded them in the past. After reshaping, heat to a cherry red and quench in oil. 30+ years after doing my 1st, it's still holding up. I only have one with the stamped steel carrier, in a '6...

It's called the "link". The other is the "trigger block safety", first introduced on the 1873 Winchester. The other part you might check is the "friction stud", it's the part that sticks out from the rear of the link and engages the lower tang, it can stick in it's chan...

This points right at the reason I've never wanted a .38-55. Old guns were all over the map dimension-wise... newly minted rifles were then made in the .375 Win mold, .375-.377 seemed the norm. Older firearms used the 2.125" length brass, but new brass seems to run 2.208". But... if I were ...
