Re: do you think there is enough new cartridges?
I'll bet it sure makes for a challenge for the gun shops to stock decent inventory! I do have HandiRifles in 500 S&W, and .17 HMR, and a Contender in .357 Max, which are all "new", but all three are single shot breakopen guns I shoot few rounds through. When it comes to the "meat ...

Re: Question about bullet brand interchangeability.
Logic would make me think that the base-to-crimp distance would be very important, as it would affect case volume (especially in smaller and/or straight cases). Diameter isn't always the same for a "7mm" or ".308" bullet, so that 0.001" or so could affect pressures, accuracy...

I'd be afraid of knocking into something and breaking it off. Looks kinda fragile. jb Actually I don't think it will be, despite the looks. First off, compare it to an ordinary 'buckhorn' type sight - it only sticks up a tiny bit more than a 'full buckhorn' and is otherwise of the same design. Seco...

Here's a question (and somewhat of a reservation) I have about night vision scopes... Is it not like getting your eye right up next to an old television, with high-energy electrons coming at you? While waiting to get the Williams FP I decided I'd just try the Marbles "Bullseye" Sight I had fiddled with on the 77/44 ( the only problem using this sight on that gun was the barrel dovetail was too far back and not enough room between it and the receiver behind it to clear the sight's a...

I've been told an arbor press (or you could make a simple 'lever' press like the tabletop nutcrackers) can help do the re-forming with more precision, using the Acu'rzr. I haven't tried that yet, but plan to (on the 'someday' list... ). For now, I've been just using a mallet, with the primer-...

As a kid between the ages of maybe eight and eighteen, I shot probably 100-150 feral dogs. We were over-run with them. About 10% of any given 'pack' would have collars on and be fancy 'breed' dogs out running with the 'gang'. They'd chase deer out onto thin ice in the riverbottom fields in winter, a...

With that said, I think Marlin's quality control has slipped a good bit in the last 20-25 years. I don't own any Marlins made more recently than 1980 as a result. You do find new guns that have nice wood and good fit and finish, but they seem to be the exception. True. Usually the stereotype is the...

Well, at least it shoots accurately (with 158 gr. Federal JSP factorys). Here's six shots at 100 yds. - but off a weighted rest (homemade version of 'lead-sled'), and the 36x scope. Looks really nice on that Ruger. I wouldn't mind doing that with an aluminum or blued-but-needs-refinished gun, but hopefully starting with stainless I can just do some sort of blasting, buffing or 'firewheeling' (?).madman4570 wrote:http://www.jimsgunsupply.com/DuraCoat/d ... s_1022.jpg

No. If it is in south-central area I may be able to ask around to see if anyone's been there.
