I don't have any experience with those, I did experiment with 38 special shot loads and was highly unimpressed... I would think at the range the loads are practical you might as well use a pellet gun....YMMV

Way back, while on a hunting foray I discovered the bead missing on my 336. I took a straight pin and cut it down, then tapped the short pin shank into the front sight. the head of the pin was the new bead. Stayed like that for many years until I upgraded to the Williams firesite.

Same technique I use, even with a double action and during quals. Almost as fast as double action but more accurate.

When I have steak, which isn't often, my go to is olive oil spread on with kosher salt and black pepper, very rarely a light sprinkle of garlic powder, that's it.
grilled or a hot skillet to just short of medium....,Hot pink in the center.

Just had bilateral knee replacements, 5 weeks yesterday, already can see major improvement, maybe 5 miles is in my future yet! Hope you get it sorted...gotta keep it moving or you'll be sitting in...

The good carbon steel pans are thicker and heavier then the thin restaurant pans, yes they do heat up faster but hot spots aren't as noticeable, and they do season to a point like cast, and are much easier to handle then cast iron with this broke down body... :mrgreen:

I recall reading stories back in the 60's that some people had superstitions against shooting an albino deer, Haven't heard that one in a long time though.

There are some piebald deer around "here", but pretty rare, I never saw one.

Cast Iron, They were made many different weights depending on size of the windows, There should be a number cast in the upper side or the very top "strap", thats the weight in pounds.

My 336 has a Williams FP with aperture removed, and front firesite bead...very accurate, fast and good in low light, Not as good as even a cheap scope, but way better then standard iron sights.

No experience with one, just that the "bed" seems awful small.
A lot of trappers really like the Toyota pickups, smaller, better milage, decent size bed and tremendous longevity....and they go anywhere plus a 4x4 pickup can.

Expensive too.... :?

Did some research on this and quite a few "experts" recommended #1 buck for anti personal rounds. Better penetration of heavy clothing then #4, less penetration in houses and less risk down range then OO... I could never get buckshot to pattern well in any of my guns, but a friend of mine ...

Actually have a big one in the live trap waiting to go into witness relocation. :mrgreen: I release the possums, someplace else, they do eat chickens if they can get to them. and sometimes get into the garbage.
