Re: Model 95 Winchester as a working gun?
I bought a browning 06 in 87 as a getting out of the Army present to myself. Like the rifle but have never figured out a load it likes. Shoots 5 - 6 inches at 100 yards. Dads old 32 special with iron sights shoots about the same size group at 200 yards with reloads or leverevolution factory. Any of ...

Re: Model 94 in .32 Win Special
Dad's old 32 special 26 inch Octo Barrel 1907 as I remember will still shoot 4 Inches with my 61 yo eyes at 200. If you look with equal bullet weights the 32 special is 100 FPS or so faster than the 30/30. Really funny the performance difference is the same as 308 vs 3006. 32 special is considered e...

Dads old 32 spec 1907-08 mfg 26 inch octo barrel seems to like Hornady Leverevolution factory ammo. Anyone out there reloading with this rather new Hornady powder? How much is the secret to the Leverevolution ammo due to the pointy 165 grain (lighter than 170) bullet and how much to some kind of tai...

Have an old rossi puma 44 mag carbine slugs measure .434 - .435 depending vs .429. Keyholes at 25 yards with some loads and at 50 with darn near everything. Got some deparado soft cast bullets. 6 Inch groups and round holes at 100 yards. Not exactly match winning accuracy but much better than not be...

Torn between the spotting rifle (50 Cal short) on a 106 recoiless rifle or the German 1980s vintage panzer faust. Much like our 90 mm recoiless a real lauten boomer.

Have used quite a bit of AA2 and AA5 with loads as small as 3 grains for 32 ACP small ball spherical powders meter really well. Back when I started using the stuff it was really cheap compared to IMR or other brands.

Interesting about the dash cartridges. Most the -xx is a powder charge, year as in the 30-06, the parent cartridge as in 7-08 and 25-06 and 22-250, but the 250-3000 savage meant the .250 bullet going down range at 3000 fps (actually 257 bullet, we measure the bore size prior not max diameter after g...

Having no personal knowledge but have heard in the city limits of a major AZ city a box trap, a boom box playing rock and roll of your choice, a chipmunk rifle and cb caps takes care of the problem when touched off when in contact to the back of the head.

Years ago bought a Lyman T-Mag kit from Midsouth shooter supply. Came with virtually everything I needed. If you really want to cut wood. Use the chainsaw of choice to cut the wood into lenths that you can manhandle on to the carrier of a 36 inch buzzsaw powered by the PTO wheel of an old F12 tractor driving a huge belt. Re: OT - . 44 Pistol Home Defense Loading
The late great skeeter skelton swore by the 44 spec with 240 SWC loaded to 1000 fps. Hobies comments about using full length 44mag case have merit. Think any way you slice it 240 grains at 900 - 1000 fps will change a miscreants outlook rather quickly and renders same quite harmless. Floors could re...

A colt python with a real nice leather police type holster, belt and two boxes of shells for $350.

Try a Makarov
If you can stand the stiff recoil spring a makarov is pretty small and the 9x18 is a lot hotter than a 380. Mine eats anything and hits where it is aimed. Sights suck but if you can see them they work.
