Some things that really helped me are Wim Hof guided breathing and the McGill big 3 exercises. Both on youtube. After adding these in to my excercise program I am pretty much pain free with full functionality.

Doing kind of the same thing but still carry a rifle with rounds in the magazine and nothing in the chamber. Still hunt them hard via still hunting and tracking. When I see one I take the shot just like I would if there was a round in the chamber. Click but no bang. Get to hunt all season this way.

From Levergunner "I think you mean off bench, and not off hand, you won't be able to tell any difference in accuracy when shooting offhand between a 1" gun and a 2" gun. Unless you're one of the rare few that can hold better than 2" off hand. I cannot. I often plink with my Winch...

Re: Proper Winchester - Marlin comparisons
Have Winchester 94's, 95's and 71's. Two marlin 336's in 35 Rem. To shoot I use the Marlins mostly. They will shoot with bolt guns accuracy wise. The Winchesters are less accurate in my samples. They will shoot 2- 3 inch groups at 100. The Marlin 35's 1 - 1/2 inch groups. Also for me I can easily ad...

Good tip on covering the bags. I was shooting off the hood of truck over bags and walked down to check the target. Turned around to walk back to see the small flames of the bag on fire.

We use cedar oil and garlic oil here in Maine where the mosquito is the state bird. I use it mostly to keep the ticks off. Cedar oil for the dog as they do not do well on garlic. Seems to work as good as anything.

Re: Vintage .22LRs
When woodsloafing the most natural gun to carry for me is some form of 22 rifle. Would like to find a nice Winchester 61. A 22 mag would be nice too. Had a Remington 121 that was nice and an older Marlin 39 is my main 22 rifle. I think the 22 rifle is the most important rifle to maintain and improve...

Odd man out here. I have an old 44 mag flattop that someone cut to 4 5/8. I like the Pachmayer grips and shoot much better with them than standard grips. Seeing the sights became an issue and I was not accurate enough to hunt with it. Really breaking tradition and it now has a red dot. A gun I reall...

I have toned down my loads too. I am 64 next month and still hunting with handguns, In the 45 Bowen Redhawk 10.0 of HS-6 and a 250 xtp work nicely for me. It is a heavy gun and the grips spread the recoil nicely. The Bowen 41 mag I now use 210 xtp's instead of the 265 grain cast I used to use. While...
