Well, non ferrous metals like copper and brass wont harden by rapid cooling. They are work hardened by being sized in the dies repeatedly. Only reason cast bullets can be hardened by water quenching is because they have tin and antimony in them. Pure lead wont harden either if water quenched. Macha...

Six, aint had much to say or even add any thing of knowledge so just sat back, so as to listen and learn... Been getting ready for a trip but my eyes are flocked up, so this next week will be interesting to say the least. My bad eye, is now my good eye! Cant hardly read the caliber on a rifle barrel.

Been enjoying the comments on here. Particularly like the 4th of July pics. Oh to smell saddle leather in the morning. The jeeps were the 2nd and 3rd best sights there.

I wrapped 2 layers of scotch tape to hold one in place, then was gonna use hot glue to hold others in place and decided to cut down and split a couple of dead trees for the stove instead. Its not cheap, i prefer to call it ingenuity! :mrgreen:

Nath, i did a check on Cast Boolits forumn for ".444 shotshell loads"...... Found quite a few "alternate" loads using herco, clays, unique and red-green-blue Dot powders for the .410. Thats nice shape, .410 and .20 gauge bolts seem to be the only ones that sell here. There's been a nice Kiesssler 20 gauge sitting at the shop but i just dont need it. Besides .410 is to easy and cheap to load for. Todd/3leg

GM, yeah my back and knees gave me reminders of how fun decks are to rebuild. Sheep at Six's, grass kept trimmed and extra vermin to shoot at! Best of both worlds.

Hit the AlCan yesterday morning. Made it to Fort Nelson BC. Been good going.........so far. :D Make you sure you stop at Whirlpool Canyon after you get to Liard Hot Springs. Look up the Knotty Shop in Alaska if they are still open its a great eye candy shop. Did you stop at the Museum in Ft. Nelson?

Aguila 30 gr super max velocity shells have nice ball of flame at dusk. Are those available at a reasonable price there! The shop here doesnt charge tranfer fee if you buy from them. For firearms mailed to them from other sources its $20 for the 1st time and $15 therafter.
