Ray, I've been using Blue Dot in 223 with a 34gr HP and 50gr SP, reallly happy with the accuracy and velocity. If you google "Blue Dot loads for 223" there is a couple good write ups. One guy has data and pressure for up to 60 grain bullets.

Muzzle blast from a 223 ripped a nice slit in my subzero milbag when i didnt quite have the muzzke past it. Have you watched Hickok45 video on revolver cylinder blast? He uses hotdogs to simulate fingers.. Todd/3leg

If your gonna be shooting alot of 220-250gr cast bullets at 2000-2400fps then it would be an advantage over 30/30. But then again if its a caliber you really want, then do it. Todd/3leg

Most common length fishing rods would make appropriate spacers as well...... Cane poles, fly rods, and flipping sticks for the more mysophobic amongst us..... Ray, flipping stick? I got walking sticks with sharpened deer antler tips on them for keeping things away or moving Portugese Man-o-war's on...

Cool, i had mentor that built 3 or 4 wildcats on the Siamese action. I have both Ackley books but aint close to them. CRS aside, 1st edition had alot of info on wldcats based on the 348. Hope you can post some pics of your rifle.

I want to buy a 5-7" durable and tough knife blade blank to put my own handles on. What do you recomend. Did i mention tough and durable! would like to keep cost to $50 or under if possible. Weight doesnt bother me but has to be at least 3/16" thick. thanks Todd/3leg

I read the U.S. Army was also testing a .43 cartridge along side the 45*70. It looked alot like the .444 Marlin. I can oy wonder what would have done to change hustory!
