I've thought about the 10-22 thing with the Battle of Little Bighorn. Often wondered if that technology would have overcome Custer's blunder.

Bullseye Primer before the paint will make a huge difference! I've done a quonset and some grain bins and the bullseye primer keeps the paint on much, much longer.

Rossi 92 Purchase and Question
This past weekend at a gun show I ended up buying a pair of 1875 Uberti "Outlaw" 45's and a Rossi 92 in 45. The Rossi is a brass frame with a 24 inch octagon stainless barrel. Under the lever is stamped NKJ 92 along with 012212. Does this mean this rifle was worked on by Nate Kiowa Jones ?...

No matter how open the ground, you can find bowhunters filling tags in western states. I never have and never will believe short rifle shots aren't possible. And I live in a wide open central North Dakota prairie.

Sixgun,
I do feel very fortunate for where I live. Great neighbors just a few miles away - we all look out for each other and help is always only a phone call away.

Don't know where you are at, but here in central North Dakota we are dry, dry, dry, dry. Year two of a drought, even though this year isn't as bad as last year. Sold 40 cow calf pairs last year because of the lack of rain.

Zoner,
Thanks for the update! I'll have to order one. I like the rifle other than that trigger.
Just picked up 300 Hornady 143 ELDx bullets for less than $30 a box. Long winter nights around here make for lots of reloading time.

Griff, That thing reminds me of my grandfather's old Stevens double hammer that is sitting in my safe. He shot it loose decades ago.
