I have a Martin Mamba recurve and love it. I killed one doe with it a few years back. Before Kids - I could shoot very regular and became quite good. Since my children came along - my time is much more limited - I have only hunted with my Hoyt compound the last few years - some day will shoot the re...

If you are strickly shooting for groups off a bench - how about the .222 Remington. Mild shooting, cheap to reload for, accurate as almost any other round - still found in factory versions. I beleive the .222 was one of the first benchrest rounds, also one of the most popular back in its day. If you...

I agree - that seems high to me. Gunbroker and others have them listed fairly regular and going price for a slightly used on runs $450-$600. If you enjoy shooting .22's and lever actions - do yourself a favor and pick one of these up. In my opinion, it puts the current henry standard model to shame.

I think it is a great idea. I sort of have this set-up with my Winchester 9422 and 1894 carbine. Both have lyman peeps on them with the same size peep diameter hole. Their front sights are slightly different with the 9422 being finer than the 30-30 - the handling, balance, and feel of these to are q...

Barrel relining
Does having a barrel relined - say a 1873 or 1892 Winchester - by a gunsmith like these guys http://www.redmansrifling.com/ reduce the firearms overall value? My opinion is that any firearm is made to be used and should be as accurate as possible, yet I know there are some people out there that look...

nice find... only happened to me once so far - I went in to the local FFL holder in the area, who has a small shop - to pick-up a copy of his FFL to send out for a Winchester 9422 for $325 (at the time) - I looked on the rack and there is a newly placed mint, mid-80's 9422 - I asked how much and whe...

OT - Ruger Blackhawk extra 45 ACP cylinder
If I was looking to sell this - what is it a fair market price? I bought the 5.5" Ruger Blackhawk 45 LC with the extra blued, 45 ACP cylinder and have only shot about 25 rounds of 45 ACP through it - it just does not seem right to me - that gun was made for 45 LC and boy does it love them - fro...

I love this round. I cannot think of a better duo than the winchester 1892 and the 32-20 - to me it seems like they were made for each other. A lead 115 FP has enough to meat behind it to be a great all-around woods bumming round. Seems about perfect for turkeys, groundhogs, fox sized game - when pr...

Rusty - yes the .223 can be loaded down to match higher end preformance. I do not think you would get great results trying to match the whole range of hornet preformance. In my opinion - the hornet really does fill the gap in preformance between the rimfires (22 and 22 mag) and the preformance of th...

I have the Ruger 77/22 in 22 hornet. I like the hornet - I often find myself hunting groudhogs or foxes at night - close to houses. The 22 hornet does not not seem to 'crack' the same as my .223 and it is a whole lot better than the 22-250 I used to have. I load mine with 40g Vmax or BT's with a ful...

might be some hidden treasures there. Looks like a lot of military items that I am not sure of their value or worth.
