Re: 30-30 Shootn
Wanted to add, last fall I killed my deer with the 30-30 shooting the Hornady 160ftx. Day I killed it, I was bragging on how it dropped the deer in its tracks, and it did, a neck shot, didn't really break the neck, but I know the nerve & trauma was deadly. But after I cut the deer up 4 days late...

Same tales of the Cherokee, especially I think in the Smoky Mountains. Saw couple shows recently about trout fishing in those mountains, and one long time local fisher claimed to have had an encounter! But his description? IMO, just tales by a people who lived by their own gods. Not the True God!

30-30 & 30-06 shootn today, first time since December. I had 4 loads to try in my 30-06 using a Speer 165gr HC using 4064 & 4350 powder. And I had near a max load of LVR=33.6gr with the Barnes Original 190gr FN, 33.8g being the max on the Barnes chart. I shot 4 rds of these 190's only at 30y...

He's definitely an authority on bears! I used to pack a 357 with 180gr fn, 6" Mid 19, but it got too heavy in my old age. Now I've always got a 45acp with 255gr Hardcast by Buffalo Bore or Underwood. I don't really worry about Blackbears, but I'm around them all time, and have had several Mom&a...
