I've heard of several old time hunters that eventually tried some the pencil calibers, then went back to their original 303 because it always killed game, usually dead right there! Never had one but I wish I did!

Looking at that I got to wonder if he's Palestinian? Question of hunting ethics don't even apply, it's obviously a lack of Moral Conscience! Look at what's ahead, possibly people nearby. Quite often I wish I'd bought two. A 336 with 24" Barrel & Half Mag, and one in 35 Remington, It being in same configuration!

Bill, I've had great success with LVR, but I've seen others similar success with cfe223, so which ever is most accurate is the way to go, velocity difference will be LITTLE IMO! But yes, if possible try the LVR!

I'm pleased with those one loads and their velocities. The velocities are parallel with the reloading data on the Barnes site for a 24" barrel. My first load, 32.7 = 2,101fps and the 33.2gr = 2,129fps. Barnes data list 33.8gr as the max load giving aprox 2,165fps, so if I added another 1/2gr lv...

Thanks Bill, I done ordered the Barnes 190s. If turns out I don't like em in my 30-30, I know they'll make impressive brush busters in my 30-06! But I believe with LVR in the 30-30 they'll be impressive!

Good job and congratulations! I had couple coworkers about 15 years ago, father & son, who hunted with the 444. They where yearly serious deer hunters, and they liked that cartridge. Great for hunting these brushy mountains!

I've got a fine old Rem 742 Woodsmaster and Tikka both in 30-06 and a Rem 700 in 270, all scoped, but I've yet to really use them. I've never killed a deer yet with a scoped rifle but I'm about in need one. May use the Tikka this year?
