Possibly a salesman sample, sent back after a few years Factory did a refinish & caliber change, to .50 cal.. but also keep in mind that .50 oftentimes requires modification to the frame. Then 33's became pouplar, Winchester switched out the frame to a smokeless frame, but kept the lower tang. M...

Thanks for the expanation

Seems like a very easy barrel swap, one that even the home smith could do.

Up front I've probably never seen a 22 cal 94, just too new for my tastes, so keeping that in mind, a few questions. Are you sure it’s a press fit? Reason I ask is if it’s a press fit, the frame may have expanded enough that the replacement bbl shank may be too small now. Is the frame Al or stee...

Again as I clearly stated earlier; I don’t condone this guy’s actions, but I do want to hear the other side of the story. This guy didn’t go to a college campus shooting randomly because some girl dumped him or got a A- in Algebra; He had specific targets in mind, the targets were in a positio...

Not saying that I approve, but every story has two sides. Most of Missourians don’t think that St Louis is part of the state. But you push a man into a corner; you might not like what you get, and there are folks that will push. Rezoning a business to where they can’t make a living then levy a d...

POLITICS - Shootin in MO

Normally I’m the first one to cringe when I hear about public shootings or shootings of innocents. But with this shooting in Mo, the Mayor, city council members, has gotten me very curious. Listening to the shooter’s family members on the radio, talk about the City giving him a “ticket a dayâ€...

Do all kinds of bluing here in the shop, the best advice I have is Farm It out... If I didn't have to do the bluing I wouldn't. Salts are nasty, creep out on to the floor, will eat up concrete, wood etc...and thats when they are cold. When hot...thats a diffrent story, imagine 280+ degree concentrat...

Woody

First of all, you didn’t post any pictures, without pics it’s very hard to do an assessment.

The barrel can easily be bored and rifled to 38-55, or a new barrel can be made for it in the original caliber.

Cartridge and Chamber Dimension Web site needed

There use to be (and I assume there still is) a web site that had cartridge and chamber dimensions, some pretty obscure ones too. Can anyone here provide the link.

Thanks

If I were to do it without a mill or lathe, I would probably use a Hardened Machinist V. Block. Cut barrel to approx length with hack saw, mount barrel in V Block to where the last few thou are hanging off the end of the V. Block. File away; keep filing on the barrel until the end of the barrel is l...

A picture would be great to help answer your question It's already missing the links, mag tube & side plates, sounds like its already started its journey to being a parts gun. Figure about $300 to replace just those parts. If its a pistol grip 44 cal with 40% bluing on the remaining parts, proba...

Mitch You're disappointed because you didn't send it to me..... OK Kidding First that restoration was dirt cheap; I would have charged at least $1000 more, and I’m pretty reasonable. I charge $700 for my76 barrels, which means the restoration was $500, I don't know anyone who can do a proper resto...

Guess all the African game taken with Winchester's 1876 in 50-95, the 1886 in 45-90, 50 Ex, 50-100-450, and 405 were all lucky shots.
