If I can shoot reasonably well with the buckhorn, I'll leave it alone. But something tells me I'll need something that focuses old eyes a bit better. I appreciate everyone's input. I'll try to get the rifle out to the range next week.

Thanks, gents. I'm going to add a Skinner barrel mounted peep sight, I think, as the open sight will probably be problematic to my old eyes. I'll take it down to clean and lube it before I shoot as I do with any gun I acquire.

Winchester 1892 Trapper Takedown question

New guy here. Haven't had a lever gun since the first firearm I bought in 1968 (a .444 Marlin). Just acquired a current manufacture Winchester Deluxe 1892 Trapper Takedown in ,45 Colt. Absolutely beautiful. I have a question regarding the takedown of the rifle. I have read elsewhere that taking down...
