Re: OT Wingmaster.
It's good to see another 28 Ga mentioned. I picked this one up a short number of years ago. It has the standard 3 chokes. She is a beauty and under certain conditions someone else might be allowed to touch a piece of the wood. It has the now already canceled safety key lock which could still be a ne...

Keep your chin up and I do hope things turn to the better for you and your family. The cat story is very sad. After our 5 children grew up and went on their own, our pets(dog and cat now) are part of our main family.
Good luck to you, Gene

Re: OT-Sporterized Mil-Surps
This is a VZ24 that Harry McGowen had sporterized for me in the early 1990s. It is a 338-06 AI. I did all the stock work on a Fajen semi-inletted English walnut stock. The finish is a multi-coat hand rubbed application of Minwax Wipe-on Poly Satin diluted with mineral spirits. http://img32.imageshac...

If you're referring to a Win M94, I use this for mine:

Re: OT 308 or 30-06?
I've been a 308 Win enthusiast sinced 1962. When the 30-06 returns for serious bench competition or is again used for police and military purposes where accuracy counts, I might consider an '06. I'll give up a small number of fps's any time for greater accuracy for a hunting rifle. My 308's have all...

Re: OT-Biggest rattlesnake I have ever seen!
In my opinion the photo is a fake. The snake has a distinct shadow on the man's body as well as on the ground. Yet the man's legs show no shadow on the ground as the snake does.

Re: Having Problems with my 25-35?
Are you by any chance necking down 30-30 cases for your 25-35? If so this is a typical problem. You state that your reloads won't load fully into the chamber. DO NOT FORCE CLOSURE OF THE BOLT WITH EXCESSIVE FORCE OF THE LEVER. You'll gall the lever mechanism with a permanent hangup notch during stro...

Re: OT Barrel twist rate and bullet weight
Here's a neat chart that Shilen recommends. They will discuss your needs also for specific bullets. I've dealt with them in the past for a 7mm Rem Mag. They're excellent people to work with.

Tex - I certainly wouldn't buy gunpowder for fertilizing the flowerbeds. A raid on the old outhouse would be a lot more economical. I've heard dumping unwanted powder in the lawn/garden is a good way to get rid of it. I once drove down the city street dumping it out of a car window before I heard of...

Here's one that I passed on to the oldest daughter's husband a couple of years ago. I got it new in 1967 in 308 W and had many seasons of success with it. He has wanted it since he first laid eyes on it. So it's now his at a little better deal than you got. $0.00 cost. I've been passing a few of my ...

I also use various dia dowels wrapped in sandpaper(prefer the black auto type) especially for concave surfaces. A thing I found to be very handy especially for such surfaces as the shadow edge of a Monte Carlo stock or any desired sharp corner whether an inside or outside corner is to cement strips ...
