Re: Remlin quality seems to be on the rise....

As I stated above I inspected several Remlingtons and 2 had crooked sights. I usually pull the sights off anyway but I am with others who are thinking "what else is wrong?" with this gun. I ended up spending considerably more on a Ruger 77/22 Stainless/Synthetic in 22 wmr but the quality ...

Use a tang sight on my .303 Savage whose balistics and reloading components are identical to .30-.30 Winchester. Pushing a 170 grain bullet atop a load of IMR 3031 which is a couple grains over max according to current data. But then my Savage 1899b has a 26" octagon barrel and the recoil isn't...

Or maybe i just lucked out? Picked up an 1895 GBL in .45-70 the other day. Fit and finish is decent, sights are straight and it cycles ammo reliably. Be sure your barrel is the new 1 in 20 twist rather than the old microgroove 1 in 38 twist. The older twist rates do not stabilize those leverlution bullets very well and accuracy can be horrendous.
