Because the gummie grenades are useless for anything but putting holes in paper. I have commented already on the fragmenting of the hornady bullet on game use. For many years I used Remington nickel plated cases for the 7mm-08 , 7x57 , 280 REM and 7mm REM MAG with no ill effects . Later I got a real good deal on 500 unfired Remington nickel plated 444 cases that also did well .

For a shoot like that I'd either want a heavy ( trap gun) or a gas operated semi. The Benelli is using up energy in the bolt cycle that would otherwise be hitting your shoulder. 14 1/2 in lop seems pretty long.

I’ve killed a pretty good amount of deer with cast bullet in various cartridges all were bullets I cast myself . Most were with the 444 and a fair amount with the 45-70 but still a bunch with various lever action cartridges . Anyway without a doubt as has already been said FP’s seemed to hammer them...
