Re: New Winchester Book On 1895 Lever Actions

Glad to hear your book arrived safe and sound. Rob and I wanted to have this book printed in the USA, and we were fortunate to find very competitive printing and binding here, and they did an excellent job. Part of the project also included having a box made to spec for shipping the book. It sounds ...

Re: New Winchester Book On 1895 Lever Actions

Nice photo. The legend lives on. I'm really glad to read about the excitement you guys have for the book. Rob and I very grateful for your interest and hope you enjoy it very much. I've been hunting with this .30-40 rifle for a few years off and on. I've shot a lot of different bullets and loads thr...

Re: New Winchester Book On 1895 Lever Actions

I look forward to the book, especially any pix or text on military use of the '95. Found an interesting picture of a Mexican rebel firing a '95 Musket at Mexican Federal troops in Mexicali during the Magonista Rebellion in 1911 ("won the battle, lost the war"). Probably a .30-40 but who k...

Re: New Winchester Book On 1895 Lever Actions

Thanks guys, glad you like the book! Rimfire McNut: I used to own one of the 35 WCF rifles pictured in the book. I enjoyed shooting the rifle but it didn't have an aperture sight, and I do better with one of those. Good luck in your search. A great cartridge for sure. Sometimes underappreciated but ...

Re: New Winchester Book On 1895 Lever Actions

Thanks again guys. I've actually been loading .30-40 a lot over the last few years too and hunt with a '95 TD Sporting Rifle made in 1910. The Model 1895 cartridges are very interesting and the book has a lengthy cartridge chapter with original WRACo drawings, documents and history for every standar...

Re: New Winchester Book On 1895 Lever Actions

That looks like big medicine. A very successful hunter encouraged me to try .30-220 Woodleigh soft nose bullets a few years ago and they have also been very good so far.

Thanks again!

Re: New Winchester Book On 1895 Lever Actions

Hello I'm a co-author of the new Model 1895 book and have been reading and learning from this forum off and on for a number of years. Thank you for your enthusiasm for the Model 1895 and our book. It's been a long project, and one of the benefits has been meeting fellow '95 collectors and shooters a...
