Re: Military Retirees Take Note

95% of the Bronze Stars are BS. The exception are those with a V device for Valor. My greatest aggravations are from the Senior Leaders that would be “observers” in the aftermath of an attack and then try to get put in for an impact award or combat action badge afterwards.

Re: The muddled 38

If today’s bullets don’t suit you, your best best is to go to a LSWCHP made of pure lead or a hardness rate of no more than 12.

The tongue is the hardest muscle to control. To many times we speak before we think. Going through an issue at work related to this very issue. May the good Lord bless us all with greater discretion.

Re: Alzheimer's and euthanasia

I had a relative with a DNR that died while choking on a piece of food. The providers literally just watched her and did nothing. I can’t support a DNR because it is contingent on the common sense of the providers.

I would go with a small gas chainsaw and buy the ethanol free premixed fuel solely to feed it.

Re: UPS Stores

I went to a pack and ship that is affiliated with UPS but they also use FEDEX and USPS. The box was quite large and I knew would be expensive to ship, but the prices quoted for each method of shipment were beyond expectations. I ended up leaving with the package and went to the USPS in my town. The ...

Re: Remington 740

My FIL has the BDL version with the basketweave design on the stock and forearm. It is also a 30-06 and is very accurate. On the other hand I has a 742 model in 308 that was NOT accurate at all.

Nothing beats a new set of grips!

I recently picked up a set of Sack Peterson Grips for my Ruger .44 SPL Flattop. They fit and feel as good as they look!

No clue but I bet it shoots better than anything you can buy today. It might need a good barrel cleaning. Nice purchase.

On the average I get to shoot about once a month and go to a range to do so. We do have property to shoot on but the range is a lot closer.

Good to know about the Skinners. I don't have scopes on my levers yet but getting close to not being able to focus. CCW should be another concern for those needing glasses, as several have stated.

Re: For you older guys, what type of shooting glasses do you wear?

Thanks for the ideas. I still get away pretty good with the lower power lenses allowing me to see the sights and still have the target in pretty good focus too, but I can tell changes are coming again soon. I will look into other options as well.

For you older guys, what type of shooting glasses do you wear?

I am looking for other options. I really don't care for progressive lenses. Currently I use Safety Glasses that are .75 power with full lens magnification. Curious to know what is working for others.

If they don't start fixing problems the NRA will likely not continue to survive. IMO, Wayne seems to think of himself as entitled and is definitely part of the problem.

Re: A Good Time To Order Ammo

Brownells is running a promotion for $10 off and free shipping on orders over $75. I didn't order ammo but stocked up on a resupply of .44 MAG and .45 ACP bullets. They don't have a Brownell's in my state so it was tax free to boot!

Re: Weaver vs. Vortex opinions?

I have two Vortex 1-4x28 scopes. Both have the illuminated reticles. The glass is crystal clear and has never fogged even when getting out of a warm truck and going hunting in 20 F temps. I did send one of them back because the illumination knob was not illuminating in the proper position. It was pr...
